Raves and Faves: JUNE

Here is my Top 7 (seven? really?) list of June loves. In other words, another chance to List thing-ys. *claps*

1. These delicious Crate and Barrel bowls. I don’t have them. But, I just *know* I would love them more than the sun itself and totally be reminded of June every single time I use them which would be every day that I’m alive on this very Earth.  Begging ends here.  Hubs, now would be a good time to jot this down.  Christmas is right around the corner, you know. Dear Crate and Barrel, feel free to sponsor this blog at any time.

Wouldn’t these be cute with fruit or ice cream?

2. Biking in to the office. Helmet hair never looked so fabulous!  That’s what my coworkers tell me, anyway.  Who am I kidding?  I work with engineers and they probably don’t even realize that I have hair.

3. Fresh fruit. Ahh, finally. Target. Blueberries. $1.99.  Yes, please. I’ve been making fruit pizza in bulk every since.  Stay tuned for the recipe!

4. SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance). It’s in the running for the worst TV show title ever…but don’t let that deceive you.  It will rock your world.  Sometimes, we feel so inspired that we try out a few dance moves in the living room.  And, we’ve been known to get injured. Hubs and I never do anything silly or immature afterward, ESPECIALLY anything that requires a next day Ibuprofen run and an awesome chiropractor.

5. Celebrating my one year wedding anniversary with the Hubs by riding double recumbent bikes and eating pie (PIE!).  He’s a pretty neat guy.  I think I’ll keep him.

6. SUNSCREEN. Nuf said.

7.  Watching The World Cup.  I’ve politely asked my friends and family to refer to me only as The Great Landon Donovan from now on.  I will no longer respond to Candace.  Or The Candace.  And I’ve been wearing my shin guards to work just because you never know when you’ll need them.

How about y’all out there?  What is your favorite part about June?

  1. One of my June faves is peeking out the window as The Candace (I mean, The Great Landon Donovan) pedals away on her bike, wearing her helmet and backpack, with her finger on the bell. Cute, funny, embarrassing, and a little sexy all rolled into one.

  2. 8. Jumping in that lake for refreshing swim. It is like coming back to life after a long winter and the long, painful anticipation of the spring thaw. Sometimes it just has to happen in May but, in June it actually feels good. Awesome list – yeah for June!

  3. dear Twin Girl Child, blogger extrodinaire!

I am still trying to figure out 7 good reasons to love June. 1. It is in the summer. Which gives it the highest rating ever. Remember when we used to do the 5k run in Fairbanks, on the summer solstice? Wonderful memories, those.

Creeping Charlie is ruining my life and not in a good way.

Joe finished up the laundry room. Laundry without leaks. I am grateful.

Penny is losing her reproductive equipment on Monday. Levi will drive over and pick her up and carry her up the steps and deposit her on the dining room floor. Since she ways 37 pounds and is 4 feet long, she is hard to handle. If I had a forklift, I could use that to transfer her, but I don’t, so that is out.

I went to work this morning and left Cinnamon out in the backyard. Kenny was mowing his lawn and heard her howling. He called Grandma to come and pick her up… Oh dear, a sign of dementia, on my end, not Grandmas.

It is Grandma’s birthday on Friday and I bought her a little girl made out of a rusted shovel with welded curly hair. Since I can’t make the party, I will drop it off for her tonight when I pick up bad girl Cinnamon. She will love it.

I have been sweating quite a bit lately. The humidity and heat combo makes my face beet red so I look like a person having a heart attack. It is a different look, but still quite attractive, in sort of a medical patient type of way.

    love you

    • A fun and interesting compilation, MamaP! :) I seemed to have gotten that ‘medical patient’ type look passed down from you!
