Minnesota got punched in the face with a blizzard. The Twin Cities airport closed down, the Metrodome roof collapsed and I got to spend the entire weekend annoying my Hubs because we were snowed in. I am the only other human life form he’s seen since Friday. Terrifying, no?
Take a look.
And here is the Metrodome roof collapse:
We’ve been drinking wine, baking cookies and napping a lot. Also, not doing any of the cleaning I thought I would do if I were ever snowed in.
Stay warm and pray for the temps to rise above being Frozen Snot Frigid.

Wine, athletic cookie making – what an awesome way to spend a snowed-in weekend
Cheers to that!
It sounds like you had a splendid bday despite the weather? AND you’re *almost* done with finals, so hang in there…
Ohmygosh I saw the metrodome shenanigans on the news… so flipping crazy! Glad you kids are alright… and OMG did he get some serious air in that picture! hehe
eff laundry. wine and cookies win hands down =)
No doubt, dirty laundry is a losing battle but wine is always a WIN!!
we need more blizzards if this is how the 2 of you spend your weekends! hilarious pictures! I think I went through every craft project that my house has this weekend to keep the kids entertained as well….right after they left I took a 2 hour nap ;-P
It sounds like a very busy place with all the little ones running around at your house. What a great Auntie you are to do crafts and sledding with the girls – I am sure they had a wonderful time even though it was under stressful circumstances.
Pretty sure we blogged three times yesterday. (insert shameless plug for http://www.ourbigfatfarmwedding.blogspot.com here). And we drank wine. And I attempted to bake. Snow weekends are fun. But I didn’t do a lick of cleaning either. It’s hard to clean when you’re in a couch coma.
Daaaang, girl! You were a blogging machine! It sure does help when you are trapped inside, right?
Love the snow – good use of your weekend. I drank a lot of apple cidar, lived in my yoga pants, and hoped the blizzard would not bring baby boy quite this early….hope we get more for Christmas! Yahoooooo!!!!!
That sounds like the perfect way to spend the very snowy weekend we had – glad you kept Baby Bump baking through the blizzard. Stay warm, it’s terribly cold out there!!
How did Zack jump that high while baking?
Sounds like a good snow in weekend.
Kari, it has something to do with the bleach white socks. They are like sneakers!
He has incredible dexterity when baked goods are on the line.
I can’t believe I missed all of these posts. The blizzard was a wonderful experience. I read William Kent Krueger’s VERMILLION DRIFT. He is such a cool writer – and Minnesota born. I put a roast in the oven with a little balsamic vinegar and onion soup. The girls and I cleaned it up at supper. How does Zack jump that high? He must have a high center of gravity – whereas mine is low to the ground. love mamap
