Look! Look what I found!
The SUN.
Oh, how we have missed you.
I can hardly believe it, but we may have just survived winter. I had some serious doubts that Snowpocolypse would end but looks like we came out alright on the other side. Sure, we’ve still got all of April for Old Man Winter to ruin my birthday month with more bitter weather. But, until then, I’m going to take walks in my neighborhood, point excitedly at that big heap of hydrogen plasma and count my luckiest star that it decided to come out and play.
The sun was sinking fast so I had to quit my talkin’ and get to walkin’.
I pulled out these new kicks for the special occasion. Remember them?
Ooohlala, those scantily clad extremities need not be concerned with hypothermia today!
I also asked a friend to join me.
We skipped rocks.
And we met up with old friends we hadn’t seen in a while along the way.
Anyone else considering taking the day off to stand barefoot in their driveway with their arms spread out up to the sunlit heavens shrieking “It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally effin’ here!”?

I learned a couple things from our wonderful sun celebration:
1) What Minnesota spring giveth, Minnesota spring taketh away. Goodbye, Sun, it was so nice seeing you, however briefly.
2) Skipping stones onto an ice-covered pond is a fail.
Wouldn’t it actually be considered the ultimate win because the skipping stone is semi-permanently suspended above the water – a perpetual skip, if you will? A question to “ponder”. Teehee.
That little bit of sun yesterday was AWESOME! Two thumbs up for the cute shoes – LOVE them!
Thank you! And unlike the adorable shoes I bought yesterday, these little red cuties are comfortable!
Hey! No throwing rocks into my backyard pond! LOL
Your first comment – YAY! Can you believe the hooligans that live in your neighborhood? I heard they were dropping property taxes based solely on the state of my crappy car. Sorry about that.
You better be careful next time you mow your lawn. Your mower might not take kindly to my errant stone skipping.
A) Cute story! B) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the sun, missing it as I watch snow fall down out my window…again (big fat sigh) C) Adorable shoes! I wish I had cute feet that could pull them off! Happy Thursday
It’s snowing where you are? Bummer! Us Midwest folks need a break from all of that white fluffy crap! Happy Thursday – and stay warm!
No worries! It’s gone now…it was that sneaky snow that disappeared as soon as it hit the ground…I think it was an early April Fool’s Day prank!
Glad to hear it’s gone!!
I almost saw the ground. I try to buck up and enjoy as much as the winter as I can but by now, I am fed up. I need sun – on my face and bare arms. I LOVE the shoes. I think I can fit some more red shoes into my life. YES. Have a great week ::))) lv mama p
Agreed, everyone has room for a great pair red shoes!
