Candace’s Crafty Corner: Whimsy Kitchen Towels

This is my corner of the world to make things and post them on the Internet.  Whether they are ugly or not.  You’re welcome.

I made these.  I started this project last summer actually (me?  procrastinate?) and finished them up just in time for Mother’s Day (my deadline).

One is for Mom (hence, deadline) and one is for a friend, just because.  Do you like?

More pictures, also just because.

I’m crossing my wounded and pricked fingers that they don’t come flying apart in the first wash.  And if they do, I’m crossing my wounded and pricked fingers that the giftees never mention they came flying apart in the first wash.   Anyone tried a new foreign hobby that requires scary injury-inflicting needles like me?

Maybe don’t answer that?

  1. I love my towel. I love the pumpkin bread and the pickles. SIL outdid himself at the grill yesterday and created the best burgers (no joke) I have eaten in ages! I am so grateful for the love, the food, the kids, and the gifts. Levi, kind and generous, drove me to Rochester with no complaint. I enjoy my time with him, given we have much the same sense of humor. I don’t think that is a bad thing ::)) I figure I ate every two hours yesterday, ending with a steak on the grill. OMG. So far, not a lot of success with the diet. I don’t think your prayers are working. We might have to veer over into the stranger religions, like Lutheran. Just think about it. love to all, mamap

    • When you are trying to lose weight, it is important to eat more often to keep up your metabolism and eat lots of protein, like that tasty steak you had, so keep up the great work! I read an article that women should try to lose weight like men do, because they are more successful at it than we are, so: more meals, more protein instead of more chocolate (boo, I know), and don’t worry if you cheat a little and because men don’t care if they do…and have fun in Texas and don’t worry about those 40-some lbs…

    • It was a perfect day! I am so glad you enjoyed your pumpkin bread and pickles, they were made with lots of love! And SIL sure cooked us up some fly burgers – yum!

  2. Fly burgers? I thought they were beef. Now I am feeling a little creepy. Thank you Kate for the words of wisdom – I appreciate it. I have a navy polka-dot swim suit so I am sure I will do it justice. Thank goodness, Texans like em’ big! love mamap

  3. Too cute! Elin just outgrew her super-cute onesie from Auntie Candace with the same little bird on it..HINT,HINT,wink :)
