Flashback Friday

This woman, though rather short, fills an extremely tall space in my heart.  She is my Grandma.

Photography by Emily Griffith.

It’s her birthday tomorrow and I regrettably have to blow her some birthday kisses from the mountains this year (and pray they make it over that long bothersome stretch called Nebraska).  Sorry, I have to run off because I’m getting all snotty and overemotional and I can’t see what I am typing anymore.  Make sure you kiss your Grandma soon because they are special people.

  1. Happy Birthday to TheCandace’s G-ma!!! I agree, Grandma’s, Nana’s :-) Grandpa’s & all those folks who raised our ma & pa’s are extremely wonderful people. I have a feeling your kisses will fly through NE with no problem whatsoever!

    • Phew, I want to make sure her birthday is special and she knows I love her! Happy Friday to you, Tai! Miss you!

  2. Happy Birthday, Colleen. You are such an amazing grandmother to Candace and you are always so welcoming and kind to me!

  3. Beautiful! Don’t worry, there is nothing in NE that could possibly block your kisses. They’ll arrive with a gale force.

  4. I am dropping off Grandma’s gift in the morning. Aunty Deb (whose birthday is also 07 09) took Colleen to the casino last Saturday and neither came home rich. Bummer. About the money, I mean, not the casino. Candace holds a special place in her heart. I will kiss her for all of you. smooches lv mamap

  5. Happy Birthday to the Candace’s Grandma! Thanks for this posting, it came just in time for one my grandma’s birthdays, this Saturday. They are both gone now, and it gave me a chance to think about them. Happy weekend to you.

    • I’m sure you cherish the memories of your Grandmas and I know they are looking down on you with lots of love, Kate!
