As promised, I threw together a recap of MamaP’s weekend getaway here in Colorado. It goes a little something like this.
The day she got to town, I had to skip off to a cross country meet. So, while I was making a positive influence on our youth, MamaP and Hubs were on the underside of a different kind of influence.
What I mean is, they went straight to a brewery:
I imagine they had a nice time because I found this on my camera later that evening:
The next day was reserved for just us ladies. We shopped and talked and walked.
(it’s ok if a little drool slipped out over that maple-bacon-chocolate delight)
It’s funny. I see so much of myself in her and yet, we are so different. It’s a good different.
As you already know, we started our third day with a sunrise hike (I use the term loosely) in the mountains…
With intermittent rock climbing:
After warming our tummies with hot coffee, she had a total cow over doing outdoor yoga:
Although we packed a lot into the little time we had together, we still managed to stop and smell the roses…
And spend some good old fashioned quality time together.
Unfortunately, the weekend dissolved and, as it goes, all good things come to an end. It was time to go.
Goodbyes are hard, especially when it comes to family that matters. Hope to see her again soon.

Looks like you guys had an awesome weekend!!!
PS – the cupcakes look delightful!!!
We, indeed, had a marvelous time.
Good times indeed. I *might* have gotten a little teary
you have such a big heart, eg.
It was fun showing Mamap a good time around the town! We also learned an important lesson: high altitude beer tour sampling can catch you off guard.
Thank you for taking good care of her while I was away. She had a ball.
Yay for MamaP time! I have always wanted to go to a brewery! Those yoga moves look pretty wild…and that hiking adventure looked pretty fun too.
The sunrise was seriously gorgeous.
OMG. theCandace and SIL were the most gracious hosts. I must say that SIL took very good care of me whilst I was afflicted with AAI – Accidental Altitudinal Inebriation. SIL introduced me to a new beer called porter at Boulder Brewery and it is delightful (although it did cause the AAI) first at the brewery and then the 2nd time at Mountain Sun, where we had retired for an early (3pm) dinner of the best hamburger and fries in the world. (Whew – maybe I should have used some punctuation in that sentence – but where?) I drank another coffee porter – yum yum and met a nice young lady in line at the ladies who said she arrived two weeks ago and had been drunk every day since she deplaned. Clearly, another case of AAI.
I had a superior time – it was almost fantastical and I enjoyed every minute. I can’t wait to come back and visit – many more micro breweries await as well as paintings by elephants. Also, I am in training to become a street performer so I can spend time down on Pearl street and raise money for the bead shop. FUN! lv mamap
That AAI can hit fast and strong! I look forward to your new street performer endeavors.
