With the promise of pumpkin bread, Hubs and I were able to lure a few friends over to our ‘cozy’ digs for some pumpkin carving.
To make things classy, I rolled out the red carpet tarpĀ for our guests:
While Hubs was serving up his delicious homemade tortellini soup, our party goers were hard at work on their creative orange orbs.
Luckily, I was able to soothe my carving insecurities with hot apple cider:
and, while Hubs was distracted, handfuls of Halloween candy…
In spite of Dory’s threats to devour my brains, I was very excited to share an old favorite tradition with new faces.
And I’d hate to speak for everyone else, but I had a mighty fine time.
Here is Hub’s masterpiece in the daylight:
Next year, I’m going to hold off on the wine until after I’m done carving.

The tradition lives on! It’s super sad that our old pumpkin carving partners can no longer join us. But it was great to have some new Boulder Buddies take part in the festivities!
Due to my use of props, my pumpkin once again prevailed in the kids division, though I was the only contestant. It was still a healthy boost to my confidence.
We’re still picking crusted pumpkin guts from the carpet, but that’s all part of the fun
If it weren’t the winter wonderland outside, I’d be lighting our little orange friends up each night!
Glad to see you brought your A-game to pumpkin carving once again!
We sure do miss scooping out pumpkin goop with the Griffith family!
I am superbly impressed by all of the pumpkins! They are so cute
We had very talented company!
Wow! SIL, thanks for the link to last year. So fun and creative. Looks like you needed scarves for your pumpkins last year as well. Next year, you’ll have to carve a skiing scary pumpkin or a pumpkin in bike shorts or a pumpkin holding a clipboard with a petition. So cool. lv mamap
An Ode to Boulder Pumpkin – I like it.
Wonder how I could carve a Vegan Pumpkin?
Hats off to you and your little orange friends (and your real new friends too)!
I’m so thankful we could sucker a few fine folks over to carve with us this year, we enjoyed the company. Missing you and your little punkin, big time.
