*It’s true, I really can read!
THE BOOK: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
My thoughts (which most likely carry little to no influence): This is the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy (read my review of the first here). Predictably, Hubs and I gobbled it up with no shame. In spite of being riddled with crappy writing, cheesy cliches and holes in the plot, it still was a good read. Good as the first? Not even close. But, I still couldn’t help myself. And you bet Hubs and I are going to push our way past the tweens to get tickets to the movie, now that it’s finally out!
Grade: B
Would I recommend it to a stranger on the bus (trying to make his way home)? *cringes* Yeah, I totally would.
What I am reading now: I’m reading Tina Fey’s Bossypants instead of cleaning my landfill of a house.
It dragged along early, but was pretty riveting by the end. If only Suzanne Collins was a better writer…
She’s the worst! Can’t wait to start the third book, even so.
Everybody so went to “The Hunger Games” last weekend. 155 million dollars WOW. I am going to the movie but I can’t say I will ever read the books. Too many good books to waste time on a bad one. I think in this case, the movie is better than the read? I miss you thecandace and the hubs. ::((. I will come and visit soon. lv mamap
Yeah, the bad writing might be too much for you too take. Go to the movie! I hope you are feeling better?
Ooooh, I like Tina Fey. How is her book?
I finished it last weekend! Nothing like the library wanting their book back to force me to finish it. It was alright…I’ll be writing the Book Nook soon!
I have not fallen into the Hunger Games trap yet…
It’s only a matter of time, my dear…
