Happy 4th of July!

4july2017All the heart eyes for these two! Amelie is SO excited for fireworks again this year! I’m a wet blanket and could do without. I think fireworks are too loud. Too excessive. Too late. Too crowded. And also, the mosquitos (even in Colorado).

I’m no fun!

Stay safe and enjoy the summer sun and festivities.

A look back on my patriotic cuties on July 4 2016!

  1. kiddos look so adorable! Did they enjoy the fireworks? We put our little guy to bed at 8pm and frantically watched the baby monitor for any movement while hearing the fireworks go off at 9ish…it was so loud & I don’t know how he didn’t wake up. We have skipped every 4th of July fireworks since he was born, so I totally get where you are coming from. Maybe next year!

    • Amelie loved the fireworks! Cade slept through them too thankfully but I have trouble. I’m such a fuddy duddy!

  2. I don’t like the noise for sure. I don’t understand why just a boom is exciting. Or the rat-ta-tat-a-tat x 100. As a result of these excessive boom, Penny ended up shaking in her boots during the July 4th fireworks (which actually starts at the end of May and goes into the middle of July )shakes in her proverbial boots. So I gathered up her fifty pounds and dropped her on the bed. It is like sleeping with a boulder. But she does stop shaking and will sleep. We have to protect our little kids and dogs. Lv mamap

    • Poor Penny. So many animals (and veterans!) are such wrecks around this holiday. I wish we could do without and avoid the trauma for their sake. I’m sure you gave her lots of kisses and comfort.
